Roy Lee – Roy Lee Plumbing and Heating Limited

2026 marks a proper milestone for Roy Lee—40 years in the plumbing and heating trade, along with 18 years running his own business, Roy Lee Plumbing and Heating Limited. It’s a career built the right way: proper training, years on the tools, and a reputation earned through honest work.

Starting Out the Proper Way – City & Guilds Apprenticeship

Roy began his career with a City & Guilds Craft Apprenticeship, learning the trade hands-on, as it should be.

That kind of training means:

  • Learning directly from experienced tradesmen

  • Gaining real, practical experience—not just theory

  • Understanding systems properly from the ground up

  • Developing pride in doing a job right

It’s a solid foundation that stays with you—and it shows in the standard of work delivered today.

18 Years Running His Own Business

In 2008, Roy set up Roy Lee Plumbing and Heating Limited, bringing years of experience into his own company.

Since then, the business has been built on:

  • Turning up when promised

  • Doing the job properly

  • Giving honest advice

  • Treating customers’ homes with respect

Most work comes through repeat customers and recommendations—which speaks for itself.

Gas Safe Registered – Keeping Things Safe

Roy is registered with the Gas Safe Register, which is a legal requirement for anyone working on gas in the UK.

Being Gas Safe Registered means:

  • Fully qualified and regularly assessed

  • Work carried out safely and to current standards

  • Peace of mind for customers that appliances are safe

OFTEC Registered – Oil Heating Covered

Roy is also registered with OFTEC, covering oil-fired systems.

This means:

  • Qualified to install and service oil boilers

  • Work carried out in line with regulations

  • Safe, efficient systems for off-gas properties

Member of the CIPHE – Professional Standards

As a member of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineering (CIPHE), Roy is part of a recognised professional body within the trade.

This reflects:

  • A commitment to doing things properly

  • Keeping up with industry changes

  • Maintaining high standards of workmanship

Engineering Technician – Recognised by the Engineering Council

Roy is also registered with the Engineering Council as an Engineering Technician (EngTech).

This is a recognised professional standard and means:

  • Proven technical competence in the engineering field

  • Assessed skills, knowledge, and practical ability

  • A commitment to professional standards and ongoing development

  • Recognition beyond the trade—within the wider engineering industry

It’s not something handed out lightly—it reflects years of experience and the ability to apply that knowledge properly on the job.

40 Years of Experience That Matters

Over four decades, Roy has worked on just about every type of system going—from older gravity-fed setups to modern high-efficiency boilers and controls.

The industry has changed, but the approach hasn’t:

Do the job properly. Don’t cut corners. Make it last.

Built on Trust

Roy Lee Plumbing and Heating Limited has built its reputation on:

  • Reliability

  • Honest, straightforward advice

  • Quality workmanship

  • Long-term fixes—not quick patches

That’s why customers return and recommend the business.

A Thank You

Reaching 40 years in the trade and 18 years in business wouldn’t be possible without the continued support of loyal customers. It’s genuinely appreciated.

Looking Ahead

While this is a big milestone, it’s still business as usual—providing a dependable service, keeping homes safe, warm, and working as they should.

40 years in the trade. 18 years running the business. Proper training, proper standards, and a job done right.
